This piece digs into the weight we place on money and how it shapes our lives, culture, and identities. Using mixed media, I layered textures and colors to show the tension between wealth as power and wealth as destruction. The faces of currency—those so-called “dead presidents”—become symbols of both opportunity and oppression, representing how far we’ll go to chase something that was never meant to define our true value.
At its core, this painting is about reflection: do we control money, or does money control us?
