This is the second piece in my Dear Summer series.
It takes me back to how excited I was when I got my first bike-riding it until I couldn't anymore, just having fun in the neighborhood with everybody.
The days felt long, beautiful, and full of adventure.
I'd come home tired, but all I could dream about was waking up and doing it all over again.
But what made this painting extra special? I let go. I didn't overthink it. I wasn't caught up in the details
—I painted how I felt. Loose. Free. Like summer itself.
And if you look close, you'll see the raindrops actually pop out of the canvas-because the memories do too.
